The Red Man is actually Olduvai a sculpture representation of human endeavour, global commerce, travel and Africa’s centrality to human evolution. It is inspired the 5000 km Rift Valley, the Great Lakes of East Africa: one of the most important sites of human development. It stands 8 meters high and is lightly curved like a leaf in the wind. It became a centre of focus for Eve members that attended the Book Fair: it was where we met and met other people- like Africa, a very social place. Created by Gavin Younge 2008.
John and Rodney is dwarfed by the Red Man. In other pictures Roland is serious and John is enjoying some witty remark by an author; Rodney is a new member of EVE and John Rodney and I spent a wonderful time together at the Book Fair.
